What does positive western blot mean? think i have lyme but read online & said could be hiv but don't they test hiv in pregnancy? i just had a baby

Easy does it: Western blot is not a specific test but a methodology. A western blot for Lyme disease tests for Lyme; a Western Blot for HIV is a different test. Truth be told, you need to be discerning in your internet reading and wary of self-diagnosis -- there's a lot of easy, wrong answers out there.
