Depression: Some feel that depression is not a specific illness, but is instead an adaptive mechanism motivating one to make needed changes in life. Depressive symptoms may be a final common pathway signalling lack of fulfilling activities in life. This may be multi-determined and involve issues such as lack of purposeful activity ; experience of success, poor nutrition. Lack of fulfilling relationships, etc.
