I can't think of 1.: A mild depressive episode may not be considered a severe mental disorder. However, i take major depressive episodes seriously. Take care.

Depression is a: Serious disorder; however, there are many ways to help people cope with depression and live productive lives. A combination of medication and psychotherapy has been found to be the treatment of choice. It is serious, but with treatment, it can be alleviated.

"Major" depression.: There's a difference between someone having a "bout" of depression and someone truly having major depression. While most people will have a depressive episode during their lifetime, much fewer people are diagnosed with depression as an actual diagnosis.
