Food choices: Gingivitis is prevalent among infants, children ; adults ; does not normally require a change in diet. An exception would be acute gingivitis in which case you should avoid spicy foods, anything with citric acid or alcohol ; foods with sharp edges which will increase discomfort ; may delay healing. Proper brushing ; flossing will reduce the severity of gingivitis regardless of what you eat.
