Floss regularly: True gingivitis, limited to just inflammation in the gums, can be reversed with good oral care and regular dental visits. If it is not going away, it may be more than gingivitis and has progressed into full blown gum disease. Please go see your dentist.

Need more cleanings: Depending on your history (dental and health, ) you may more than 2 cleanings a year, possibly 3-4. Home care could possibly be improved, but hard to say.

Sub standard care: It's most frequently due to bad home care , assuming that you go to your semiannual checkup and cleaning , you have to have a regiment for maintaining healthy teeth and gums, flossing , brushing and use of mouth rinses.

You need scaling: See a periodontist to see if you have gingivitis (bleeding or swollen gums) or periodontitis (bone loss). You may need scaling and root planing, traditional gum surgery, or laser periodontal therapy (lanap).
