Can a fall to wrist cause cts? i've had an mri which shows scapholunate widening but x-rays don't support this find. i'm still having pain 18mths on

Yes: Any fall that causes change in the carpal anatomy and/or swelling within the carpal tunnel can cause carpal tunnel syndrome. Also the MRI is more sensitive study than plain x-rays particularly if the x-ray was not a clenched fist view which will highlight the scapho-lunate gap. Follow up with a hand surgeon.
