Form of paresthesia: Any unusual sensation, variously described as numbness, burning, tingling, ants crawling under skin, can be considered 'paresthetic'. Can occur anyplace, vast majority r transient, curious, then gone. If persistent & spreading or other sx start, consider neurolgic, such as peripheral neuropathy, compression of a nerve.What u r describing could turn out 2 b lateral femoral cutaneous syndrome-:).
