Meralgia paresthetic: Sounds like meralgia paresthetica, a compression of the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve that causes this numbness but no other problems. Risk factors include obesity, rapid weight changes, and tight clothing. Other than modifying risks, there is typically no treatment and resolution may occur within months.
