Can take a while: These injuries can certainly take some time to heal and if you are not making any significant progress with nonsurgical treatment (physical therapy, injections), then your orthopedist will likely recommend surgery.

Possibly: Please see your physician regarding clotting. If you do in fact have clotting then you should be seen by your primary care physician for work up of a clotting disorder. If not, then your body will break down clots on its own time. Exercise does not necessarily speed up the process.

No: Typically cortisone injections make true bursitis feel better. If the injection was not placed into the bursa it's possible to get very little pain relief.

How fast does it take the rabies virus to go from the bite wound to the brain?

Dr. Latisha Smith
Wound care 38 years experience
Depends on bite : The average duration of viral incubation (the time until the virus causes symptoms) is 20-90 days. It is usually less than 50 days if the patient is bitten on the head or neck or if there is a large amount of infectious material inoculated from multiple bites or large wounds. The virus will not cause symptoms during incubation. Virus is transferred to brain during incubation.

Possibly yes: Bursitis is an inflammation of the bursa, a fluid filled sac at the top of the humerus. If the inflammation is severe there may be swelling. Most often bursitis causes pain without much swelling. Some other causes of swelling in the shoulder are tendonitis, arthritis, joint infection and ligament tears.
