Go to a dentist: The best thing for you to do is to see a dentist and find out what is causing your pain. It will not get better by itself. In the meantime you can take otc pain medications like ibuprofen. Avoid chewing on the tooth. Avoid sweets and cold or not things until you get it checked.

See your dentist: You need to have the cause diagnosed in order to get the prop er treatment and stop the tooth pain. Keep the area around the tooth clean and chew on the other side of the mouth. You can try tylenol (acetaminophen) or Ibuprofen until you see your dentist.

Phone call: dentist: There are no home remedies or cures for rotten teeth. No magic pills or rinses or mouthwashes. Toothaches need to be treated locally by a dentist, someone who has years of experience treating these conditions. The sooner you call the sooner you will feel better. Please don't delay, the pain may soon be unbearable.

Only 1 solution: See a Dentist. Pain killers, ice, antibiotics, will mask symptoms, but will not cure cause, which is most probably infection. You need to have all infected tooth material removed, and you need a Dentist to do that for you. No pill, paste, salve, lotion, or homeopathic will affect a permanent cure. See a Dentist...now.

Toothache: There is a reason you have a toothache. I would advised that you take an anti-inflammatory medicine i.e. Mortin, Aleve (naproxen) ..... To help calm the toothache. Then i would recommend that you go see your dentist to go figure out what is causing the tooth ache.

Broad Question: The cause of or why your tooth hurts is very important in determining how to eliminate your toothache. I urge you to visit your dentist asap. As with many things, the longer the pain goes unattended, the more damage to the tooth/area and eventually your treatment options become more complicated. The presence of pain is your body's way of alerting you that something is needing attention.

Toothache: The best advice, if Ibuprofen or aleve (naproxen) do not help, is to get to your dentist asap. You may very well have something that needs immediate attention.

Must see a dentist: A toothache is usually associated with either an infection in the tooth or surrounding gums. You could also have a cracked tooth or fractured root. The only way to find out the cause is to see a dentist. It may require a root canal and crown or possibly an extraction and implant supported crown. Do not wait as the restorability of the tooth will be compromised as the condition worsens.

Get it checked out: Take some over the counter pain medication until you can go see a dentist. I recommend Ibuprofen 600mg every 6 hours (assuming you are healthy and no kidney problem).

What can't you do ?: What you can't do is leave it alone... It will only get worse over time. In the end you will still need to see a dentist, so the sooner you call the sooner you will feel better.

Toothaches: Take some otc pain medication such as advil, motrin, aleve (naproxen) or what you would normally take for a headache. Call a dentist as soon as possible for treatment and relief. That's it, pure and simple. Not much else you can do on your own if you want to get out of pain.

Don't do....: Don't wait. Do go see a dentist. Don't irritate the tooth. Take some pain meds. Don't be your own doctor. There are many things my patients had tried, but inevitably, it only gets worse.

See dentist ASAP: In the mean time you may get some pain relief by: gently brushing the tooth and rinsing with warm water to remove any debris, avoid very hot and very cold foods, avoid acidic drinks, avoid sweet foods, take over the counter pain medication same as for a headache. The only way you will get any meaningful, long term relief is to go to the dentist and have it treated properly.
