ProBono Care: I would call a dental school and see if they have a free dental clinic or a hospital-based dental residency program that is looking for patients to treat. Explain your situation. You should also call some private general dentists and oral surgeons, explain your story, and hopefully find one that will be gracious enough to help you with your immediate needs!

Not a DIY project: If you had a debilitating infection anywhere else in your body would you allow it to go untreated? You can't fix this yourself, you need professional dental treatment. Talk to dentist about payment plans. Call the dental school @ the u of maryland. Ask your local hospital er if they know of a reduced fee dental clinic in your area. {please don't put this off.

See a dentist ASAP: Unlike some other types of infection, a dental abscess or gum abscess will not get better on its own. You can typically get free or reduced fee dental care at dental schools, community clinics, and health centers. Do not delay. Take care.
