Difficult question: Endometriosis is a really complicated problem. Endometriosis can be found almost anywhere in the body but I have never seen it in the muscles. It tends to cause scarring and this leads to pain. The pathology is normally found inside the abdomen but this can cause back pain. See your dr.

Very unlikely: Endometriosis usually presents in areas of the body where there are hollow surfaces associated with them. For example in the abdomen within the peritoneal cavity (the tummy) or even on the lung in rare occasions. It would very unlikely within the muscles of the lower back. But if you are worried about it the best thing to do is to see your physician.
