Doubtful: Babies are sometimes fussy when their teeth are coming in, but fever that lasts more than a few days is more likely to be due to a viral infection, not teething. Other signs, like skin rash, runny nose, or cough suggest infection, and a visit to the pediatrician may be in order if that occurs.

See a pediatrician : Increase in temperature has a lot of causes including infection. Teething can increase metabolism and can also raise the body temperature. It is safer for your child to be diagnosed by her physician.

Children with fever: Children with fever should be seen by a pediatrician to determine cause and if any treatment is required. At least call the pediatrician to discuss this. Teething does not cause an increase in temperature.
