See details: A high ankle sprain does not require an orif so there must have been a fracture. Since docs here does not have access to the x rays and surgical notes, ask your orthopedist the same question.

Have it evaluated.: Pain may last a long time following foot surgery. Have it evaluated by a professional and get the appropriate treatment. Recovery time may vary depending on the procedure and on the individual.
