No, but...: A torn acl will generally cause just knee pain , swelling and a feeling of instability or 'looseness' in your knee. Acl tears do not cause hip pain. However, if you have begun walking abnormally because of your torn acl and are actually limping, then your 'hip' may become painful because of this gait abnormality ( usually greater trochanter bursitis or sacroiliac joint pain). Use crutches ! gl!
