Avoid: Exercise is important, but low-impact exercise is key for individuals with hip and knee arthritis. You should try a stationary bike or swimming for exercise.

Exercise is good: You should only be limited by the pain or any instability of the joint so if instability present, don't lead with the affected leg and consider one step at a time but the exercise through all means is beneficial as is weight control to reduce load across the joints.
