Muscle disorder: Als is a very scary diagnosis, but if you have seen a specialist with a normal EMG then this should help to alleviate your anxiety. Listen to your doctor. The asymmetry of the calf in and of itself is not diagnostic -- the EMG study is. It is normal be be concerned and to have recurrent fears about this diagnosis, as many people do, but take heart in the fact that studies have been normal.

Not unusual: Asymettry of the calves is NOT unique, and can be seen in many normal patients. This is NOT a sign of ALS
