Eventually Implants: Treatment for multiple teeth lost to severe trauma is a multi step process. For most patients once initial healing has occurred a temporary denture would be made. This would be followed by dental implants. While the implants are healing removable dentures would be worn. Once the implants are healed "permanent" porcelain teeth can be attached to the implants. This process could take several months.

Implants!!!: If this was 40 years ago you would be doomed to dentures. However, with necessary bone reconstruction and a temporary denture or possibly immediate dental implants you probably can get teeth as soon as any possible facial trauma subsides. The difference between a denture and an implant or an implant supported denture is the difference between a real leg and a peg leg. Arrrrgh!

Tooth loss trauma: A complex examination should be done. Pre- accident records are invaluable. Your attending dr can do wonders with these. Bone grafting and intermediate appliances are used during healing periods. You don't have to go without teeth. A specific plan is developed. Implants are the best way to go. A team approach is often best. An implant o.Surgeon, an implant periodontist, and an implant trained dds.

IMPLANTS AND TEMPS: After trauma, if there is enough healthy bone dental implants would be the best option at your age. While waiting for healing if you are not a candidate for immediate temporaries, then a removable appliance can be an option.

Teeth in a Day: With careful planning and diagnosis, a skilled surgical and restorative team can place dental implants and attach a screw retained temporary set of teeth for the patient to have a pleasant esthetic appearance and limited function. Long term success with this technique is the same as waiting and highly predictable! it is a very good technique to achieve your goals of immediate cosmetics and use.
