What is plmd?

Periodic movement of: Periodic limb movement disorder is unique because the random movements occur during sleep--all other movement disoders occur during wakefullness. It is first descibe in 1953 and termed nocturnal myoclonus, but this is not deemed accurate and so changed to plmd. The true cause is not known, but some associatons with anemia, thyroid disease, and pregnancy etc..If bothersomes, consult doc. Good luck.
