Orthopedic Surgery 34 years experience
Surgeon' call: If you're ulna is relatively long compared to your radius most upper extremity surgeons will shorten the ulna w/ tfcc debridement/ repair routinely.Other surgeons will determine the need for ulnar shortening @ the time of arthroscopy depending on findings @ the scope( my preference)...Also the shortening( if needed) can be done 'open' or arthroscopically. Good luck!
