A member asked:

What are the chances of macrobid 100 mg twice a day for 7 days causing irreversible peripheral neuropathy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not convincing: If you have developed irreversible and "end stage" peripheral nerve problems, this needs to be fully investigated and confirmed, but also you need to confirm causation, and am not convinced that Macrobid is the sole culprit. Have you seen an experienced neurologist, and have you had electrodiagnostic studies, and even nerve biopsy, or for small fibres, skin punch biopsy?
