Yes and no: Any focused strength training exercise will have some benefit in improving muscle mass and reducing body fat percentage; however without appropriate dietary changes to cut down processed foods, carbs and sugars the benefits will not be as great. Squats target the gluteal muscles, the quads and hamstrings predominantly which are all big muscle groups.

Moderation is key: Unless you are a world class athlete, i would do research on exercises you can do for life or ask a trainer to point you in the right direction for exercises to help you get in shape and stay in shape. I have found with these body busting exercise routines that promise to get you the best shape of your life, that most people don't stick with them over their lifetime. So what is the point?

Tone your butt: It is an intensive exercise program. If you follow the program you should find your body getting into better shape. Especially the legs and buttocks. Try multiple types of exercise including dance, yoga, swimming, running biking, zumba. Good luck and have fun.
