Can it happen that ultrasound shows cancer and biopsy shows non cancer?

Yes: Ultrasound is simply an imaging tool to help aid in diagnosis. Certain tissues will have characteristics raising odds of cancer. Biopsy is a tissue diagnosis. If cancer is present, it will be demonstrated in the biopsy as it is looked at under the microscope. If no cancer is in the specimen removed, then there is no cancer. You should still follow up with surgical physician for path report.
