GBS: Many adults may carry group b streptococcus(gbs) in their body with symptoms. However some adults can develop a urinary tract infection (UTI) from gbs. Continue to see your doctor for treatment of your uti.

Yes: While GBS is occasionally found in the female genital tract without symptoms or problems, it can cause a UTI.If you have symptoms and a positive urine culture, I would treat it.
