After treatment with penicillin, ampicillin, cefazolin, or clindamycin GBS comes back within days.Testing before a HSG is not routinely done. If there is still a concern, antibiotics can be taken and the HSG can be performed on the second to last day of antibiotic prophylaxis. The insurance carrier may not pay for the prophylaxis.
