A member asked:

I've been on the 10yr iud for 2 yrs and it was always normal until last month it came on 2 times in one month now lasting 11 days +. is that normal?

Could have moved: It's rare for an iud to migrate, but it's possible. It's also unlikely for the iud to cause bleeding after having 2 years to settle in. Take a pregnancy test to be safe, and then call your gyn for an evaluation. Infections, hormone imbalances, polyps, endometriosis and fibroids are all causes of abnormal bleeding. You would need an evaluation to determine the cause for you.
