Had iud for 10 months. it has been mostly normal, but in the last 2 months i have had two periods a month (cycle every 14 days) with frequent spotting. surely this isnt normal after 6 months with iud? remove or wait?

Uterine contractions may force the IUD into the cervical canal, causing dysfunctional bleeding. See your GYN physician for an exam and ultrasound to determine the position of the IUD. Removal and insertion of a new IUD is generally required.
