Ureter blocked: I assume you had an ultrasound and/or ct scan of the kidney to find the blockage. A stone may be the culprit and the urologist may remove it via a cystoscope or have you get shock waves to break it up(lithotripsy).A tumor or scar tissue can also block the ureter. In any event, the urologist will advise you best.

Depends...: The common causes for kidney blockage are stone disease, congenital blockage at upper ureter, and tumors. So, you and your urologist will decide what and how to reasonably handle your kidney blockage depending upon its cause, location, degree, and clinical features.
