Should pass: Unusual for 3mm stone not to pass. Interesting you know diameter of stone without seeing a urologist; must have had a ct scan. Hope you are straining your urine. See urologist if you are in pain from stone or obstruction. Can safely wait 2 - 4 weeksif you are neither in pain nor have urinary obstruction.Recurrent kidney stones could be metabolic.Have u had 24 hr urine tested for calcium excretion?

Depends: Small stones can pass if you drink lots of fluid (3-4 l/day). Try taking Ibuprofen or Naproxen for pain control. If the pain gets worse, you should see your family practice physician.
