?: Pcos is diagnosed by exclusion. There is no one test to determine pcos. All other possibilities are ruled out and if there is no other diagnosis than pcos diagnosis is entertained. This is because pcos is not a disease but a symptom and there are many types of diseases that cause pcos symptoms. Hope that helps but it can be confusing.
