Asthma: How many puffs are you taking? Two should help. Also use the inhaler 20 minutes before sports, giving the albuterol time to work.

Exercise asthma: Your asthma may have other causes e.g. Allergy to pollens, dust weeds etc. See your doctor for diagnosis and treatment.

Spirometry /EKG: I think your pediatrician should determine that your shortness of breath is caused only by your asthma. Other problems such as cardiac disease may cause shortness of breath. Repeating the albuterol when you are short of breath but not exceeding the maximal dose, and a spacer device is useful for delivery.
