Wait a minute: Please forgive my frankness. You're young and idealistic. You can get enough vitamin d just from enjoying the sun -- it says you're from florida. Just a little exposure is plenty. Vitamin d is absent from most foods and evidently you haven't been taking advantage of the ones that are fortified. Truth is, you have a duty to give your body enough of what it needs; if that's a supplement, so be it.

Few food sources: Comes from exposure to sunlight. Salmon, mackerel and mushrooms are good sources from food.
