A member asked:

I had a cone biopsy of the cervix to remove dysplasia. can it come back?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes, but unlikely: About 95% of women who have had a cone biopsy will never have a recurrence of dysplasia. The risks are better if you had mild dysplasia, worse if it was severe. However, if you had moderate or severe dysplasia, you should continue to have yearly pap smears for at least 20 years after the procedure.
