A member asked:

I have had quite a large piece of my cervix removed during a cone biopsy. will the hole grow back to normal size or will it stay the same?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Cervical composition: The cervix is made up of fibrous tissue that generally does not regenerate. Once the cone biopsy removed that tissue the opening to the cervix will still be intact. However, studies have shown that with future pregnancies, premature delivery and miscarriages are a greater risk in extensive cone biopsies.
