A member asked:

In regards to hiv having access to the bloodstream, isn't the skin on the palm of the hands different from the other skin on the body? isn't it thin?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

HIV: Skin on the palms of the hands is no more susceptible to acquisition of HIV infection than any other area. Hiv is simply not transmitted in this fashion, and it is not very easy to get. You need either unprotected sex with an hiv+ person with a high viral load, sharing of needles or blood or body parts.
