Somewhat: After any surgery on the chin, there will be some numbness, especially when it is swollen. However, there are some nerves for sensation in the area where surgery is done to place the chin implant; it is possible for those nerves to get injured in the surgery, so if one side of the lip is more numb than the other, that's the cause. Usually with time it gets better. Discuss with your doctor.

Early on: It may be normal to have some numbness in the early weeks after a chin implant. This should gradually subside over time as it may be due to stretching of the nerve tissue in the region. If this persists, see your physician.
