Here's the issue-: Many physicians want to ensure that there is an appropriate indication ; that the person doesn't have significant tolerance before prescribing benzodiazapines. It is also not uncommon for patients to be prescribed benzodiazapines on more of a short term basis. Take care.

See psychiatrist: Psychiatrists are best suited to helping you with severe anxiety and xanax, (alprazolam) so please see one in your community. Psychotherapy is an important part of treatment for anxiety. When you see the psychiatrist, please also ask for a referral to a good psychologist -- unless the psychiatrist also provides psychotherapy with medication management. Cognitive behavioral therapy is what you're looking for.
