Can someone help please? my tsh level is 2.9 and my doctor says that is normal, but i have read online normal is .3-3.0 so i am curious if i have borderline hypothryroid?

Not yet. : Most doctors don't usually consider treating until the number is more above 4.5 . We do not always follow lab normal ranges and base treatment on symptoms since not everyone is a textbook number. Consider discussing any symptoms you have however with your doctor and possibly an endocrine specialist.
