A member asked:

Is it possible to be hypothyroid even if my tsh level is normal? it is 1.3. i have all the symptoms but my doctor doesn't want to test me further.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possible: If you have secondary hypothyroidism due to a pituitary deficiency in the ability to produce tsh, you can have a low or normal TSH and still have hypothyroidism. There are other tests (such as a freet4) which can check for this. It's not that common, but possible.
