Not necessarily.: If you have a meniscus tear, documented by mri, it's symptoms can vary based on how you use your knee. If you're being gentle on the knee, it may feel normal or near normal. But if your activity level increases, and your pain escalates along with that, then you may be irritating the tear, or making it worse. See an orthopedic knee surgeon for proper management.
