A 64-year-old female asked:

Had knee arthroscopy for torn meniscus & was trimmed. 7 weeks from surgery still have pain (1-10) about a 5 when i get up from a sitting position for lets say the first 6 steps & then okay. this pain was a 3 before but started walking more. normal?

It may be secondary to delayed postoperative healing, but complications may have interrupted recovery. To be on safe side, contact your orthopedic surgeon, have a followup visit, and get an opinion. Physical therapy, incorporating exercise, may stabilize your symptoms and allow you to "turn the corner".
