What does the muscle lose when i exercise intensely , do i need more protein when i do more than my usual exercise?

More protein: If you are losing muscle mass with exercise, you need more protein throughout the day. Calculate what you are getting and then go up by 0.1-0.2grams/pound you weigh and monitor your muscle mass. Drink water when the protein goes up since it can be hard on the kidneys.
