A member asked:

Y is breast ca in supraclavicular lymph nodes inoperable? can surgeon just remove those nodes involved?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It does not help: Yes, technically these nodes can be removed. But the fact that cancer has moved so far away from the starting focus in the breast also reflects that it has very likely spread(microscopically) into rest of the body. So, such patients relapse in the body in over 90% of the cases...That is why it is not worth removing them(it is the proverbial tip of the iceberg!).
