Yes: They "count", but these very early pregnancies that short circuit practically before they begin are much more common than most realize. They are therefore not very significant. You can always improve your chances by eating healthy, getting plenty of sleep, avoiding unnecessary medications, don't smoke or drink or use drugs, and taking a good multivitamin with folic acid.
