Depends: You do not state the reason for the study but i'll assume a prostate problem. A regular urine culture checks for common bacteria but not gonorrhea or chlamydia if a std might be an issue. A semin analysis would normally examine the components and ratio of active to inactive sperm. If your doc ordered the original culture with a std in mind, s/he probably has all needed info.You could ask.
