Sampling technique: The urine collected for studies is only as reliable as the technique by which it is obtained. For little girls, the usual "squat and pee" is sometimes a vaginal washout, with a catheter specimen being more accurate. It would often contain miscellaneous debris that does not represent the real urine.Males can have some similar problems if the first pee is taken rather than mid void.
