A member asked:

Is there a way to remove surgical mesh from the obturator muscle in the hip and if so what type of dr would do this?

Depends: Who placed the mesh? Why was the meash placed? Why would you want the risk of removing the mesh? Best would be to go back to the surgeon who placed it to ask about your options ; risks.

A Urogynecologist: Experienced with mesh problems may be able to help. You may want to look for one at univ of alabama or cleveland clinic.

Depends on type: If you had a vaginal mesh procedure, then you should seek treatment either with the implanting surgeon, a urogynecologist, or a urologist trained in female pelvic surgery. If you had a hernia repair, then you should seek treatment with the implanting surgeon or another general surgeon.
