BPPV: Dear susan, when there is a spinning sensation that lasts for seconds at a time when you move your head this is often secondary to benign paroxysmal positional vertigo. This is a diagnosis that is made in the office by observing how your eye movements react to positional certain positional changes. The "crystals" are not visible on exam. Bppv can be treated in the office setting.

No crystals: Its neurodegeneration. Crystals cannot be seen. Best way to deal is-less caffeine, less salt, vestibular exercise.
