Yes, ear problem: gives vertigo because the nerve input of position in the inner ear is giving a different input from the irritated ear than from both/either the non-infected ear and/or vision. The brain gets multiple inconsistent info on where it is. Moving the head (classically lying down and turning the head to one side, and repeating it to the other side) causes the vertigo and the eyes to bobble (nystagmus).
