Caffeine taper: If caffeine is stopped suddenly, there is a withdrawal syndrome with irritability, anxiety and (esp.) headache. Cut the caffeine intake by about 10-25% per day every 2-3 days or so. For example, if you drink 10 cups of coffee, cut down by 2 cups per day twice a week, and in about 2 1/2 weeks you will be down to 1-2 cups, which is a safe limit, or just continue and stop completely if you choose.
